Pam Matura dedicated nearly 30 years of her life as the Executive Director of the Area Agency on Aging District 7 (AAA7), until her passing on November 18, 2018. Beyond her roles as a social worker, counselor, leader, and advocate, Pam was a cherished mentor and friend to many. Pam served for many years on the OAGE Board as the representative of Ohio's Area Agencies on Aging. Pam's passion for rural aging issues led her to establish a national interest group, driving crucial research and funding for rural programs in Ohio. Her unwavering dedication to seniors and individuals with disabilities defined her career, and through her visionary leadership, the Agency expanded to offer invaluable services and programs that transformed lives in rural southern Ohio. Pam's commitment to serving others and her steadfast advocacy for those in need will always be remembered and admired. To honor her legacy, the OAGE Board of Trustees created the Pam Matura Memorial Student Travel Fund. This fund enables students to attend the annual OAGE conference, reflecting Pam's love for mentoring and providing opportunities in service delivery, program planning, and evaluation. By investing in others, Pam's legacy continues to inspire us all.
