Applications Now Open to Take Part in the 2026 Scholars in Aging Program

The Ohio Department of Aging (AGE), in conjunction with the Ohio Association of Gerontology and Education (OAGE), is now accepting applications for this year’s cohort of the Scholars in Aging Program. Applications are due by Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.

Ohio Department of Aging to Host Six Town Halls in August and September

Feedback from town halls will be used to develop Ohio’s 2027-2030 State Plan on Aging

The Ohio Department of Aging (AGE) will host six town halls across Ohio in August and September. Older Ohioans, caregivers, providers, and others will have an opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions aimed at helping Ohioans live longer, healthier lives with dignity and autonomy.

Ohio Recognizes World Elder Abuse Awareness Month

June is World Elder Abuse Awareness Month, and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) and Ohio Department of Aging (ODA) are reminding Ohioans to help seniors by being aware of the signs of elder abuse and how to report it.

Ohio Department of Aging Celebrates First-Ever Older Ohioans Month

This May, Ohio is celebrating the first-ever Older Ohioans Month. Historically, Ohio has recognized May as Older Americans Month. However, earlier this year, Governor Mike DeWine signed a bill officially designating May as Older Ohioans Month in line with his continued commitment to older adults.
