2018 Lifetime Achievement Award
Marc Molea, AICP, Ohio Department of Aging
Marc is deserving of this award for several important reasons:
His commitment to developing the next generation of gerontology practitioners is truly impressive. Over the last 15 years he has put his time, his money, and his heart into helping OAGE undertake activities that support students. He was the motivating force behind the OAGE scholars program. He was able to move both ODA and OAGE to embrace and support the idea. He has been the force behind the program’s success. Without Marc the OAGE Scholars program would not exist.
Marc has also been a tireless supporter and advocate for OAGE as an organization. With many changes in ODA leadership Marc has been there to make sure the importance of OAGE was well understood by ODA leaders. OAGE would not be as strong as it is today without Marc.
Marc’s commitment to the lives of older people in Ohio has always been so clear and provides the base for everything he does. He never loses sight about why we do the work that we do. His personal and professional integrity to our mission has been an inspiration to students and professional alike.
