2016 Practitioner of the Year – Organization
United Church Homes
United Church Homes (UCH) is focused on developing leaders for the field of Long Term Care Services and Supports to provide quality services for older adults. UCH provides resources above and beyond to assist nursing home administrator students to acquire skills in the areas of MDS training, EHR training, and leadership training in addition to accepting student interns (Administrators in Training) at the Canal Fulton location, Chapel Hill Retirement Community. UCH partnered with Kent State Stark on the Great Lakes Internship Readiness Grant that provided one of the first paid internships to nursing home administrator students. UCH created an education scholarship, The Quellhorst Endowment, as yet another indication of their commitment to developing leaders who will assure quality services for older adults.
