Tim’s paper advocated for an interdisciplinary approach to working with older adults. Stating that social workers will likely be part of an interdisciplinary team including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, physical and occupational therapists, and other health professionals working to provide comprehensive services to older adults in the community.

In addition, he concluded that macro-level social workers should advocate for policies for older adults to connect with city planners and regional transportation planners to advocate for an aging-friendly built environment and affordable senior housing.
