Paper: Older Adults and Technology: Adoption and Acceptance Comes from Relationship and Encouragement from Younger Generations
Casey’s paper focuses on her experience at the Wood County Center on Aging here in Bowing Group as part of her service learning course in small group communication.
Casey and other students in the class taught tablet classes once a week to interested older adults. Classes were observed using the STAM (Senior Technology and Acceptance Model). At end of project, it was found that the more positive and genuinely encouraging the students were, the more the older adults consistently attended classes and engage in learning.
